Turkey Day Break

Thanksgiving break is next week, and I am stoked! I love Thanksgiving. It involves three of my favorite things; family, food and football. If you’ve been following me you know that I love my family, so getting to go home for an extended period of time is always nice. Not only will I get to hang with my immediate family, but my cousins and aunts and uncles will be there too.

This year’s break will be a lot better than last year’s because of the fact that we will be getting off the whole week instead of the just the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday of turkey week. Last year was the first year of semesters for ONU and we had a shortened break. If you have been at ONU for a couple of years like I have, this short break was a little weird. On quarters, finals week was the week before Thanksgiving, and once you were done with your finals you could go home. Some people could get close to 11 days off.

Going from a guaranteed nine days off on quarters to only five was a big switch. Grant it last year we did get a fall break, but that was weird because I was used to having quarters and a long Thanksgiving. I’m glad the administration decided that a longer Thanksgiving break and no fall break. However, I’m not glad that I still have a lot of work to do while I’m on break because of projects, but at least I’ll be home and with my family.

Break is going to be great and much deserved.

Gobble gobble,

Jake

  1. I can't wait for Thanksgiving either! I can't wait to see my sisters and my parents. I also plan on putting on a few pounds because of all of the wonderful home-cooked meals I'll be getting!

P.S. You need to check your second paragraph for lots of spelling and grammatical errors. :)
